This week at the American Film Market, Los Angeles, Genesius Pictures have announced that Keith English will direct the up and coming feature film ’The More You Ignore Me’ written by BAFTA award winning British comedian, Jo Brand – based on her best selling book of the same title.

Produced by Debbie Gray, who’s current indie smash ‘Northern Soul’ is gathering plaudits galore (as well as a top ten place in the UK box office), ‘The More You Ignore Me’ is a heart-warming comedy drama that focuses on the life of an unusual family in rural England; it addresses mental health issues and their impact on the family – in a very real, sometimes stark, but also funny and affirming way.

Aiming to lens in the spring of 2015, the movie is currently in casting.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with such a passionate producer as Debbie”, says English, “It’s not often you read scripts as unusual and as good as this one. Jo has used all her insight gained during her years as a psychiatric health worker (before she became a comedian) to create a story that pulls no punches, but makes you laugh and leaves you with a wonderfully positive feeling at the end”.
