Keith wrote and directed a new 40sec destination video for the Community Interest Company responsible for Tourism Marketing, ‘Go New Forest’, to attract potential visiting couples aged between 21 and 55 living in London and the south-east who are interested in walking, cycling and camping in the New Forest area.
Anthony Climpson, Go New Forest Chief Executive, said: “We know that people want to escape the humdrum to somewhere magical and the New Forest is that destination. The It’s Closer Than You Think film and social media campaign just puts that story into a very short, beautiful visual narrative.”
The concept, script and storyboarding were done in-house by Keith alongside Producer Claire Cottrell, and the final film was mostly shot in Pondhead Inclosure, near Lyndhurst; featuring the district’s famous ponies, woodland and miles of tracks. Also involved in its production were Forestry England, Pondhead Conservation Trust and The 49 Innovation Centre.
“It reminds us all of how lucky we are to live and work in such an amazing and special place” said Climpson.
Local actors Laura McKee from Ringwood and Tom Barber Duffy from Bournemouth, appear in the promo which was shot by DOP John Fry with drone work by Simon Wythe. Post Production was by Velvet’s in-house facilities with the special effect graphics by DADA.
The promo has got a terrific response with over 30,000 people seeing it on Facebook alone during the opening weekend of the launch!
